![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Levels 1-4 of Module I give a basic introduction into Polynesian concepts and principles and focus on the empowerment of the student's physical reality. Personal growth and expanded understanding of self is activated through intensive dance practice, basic massage techniques, active meditations and empowerment exercises. The focus during this part of the training is on the principles of dance, movement, placement & rhythm. Emphasis on the dynamic interaction between masculine and feminine energies runs through all training activities and serves to enhance growth and expansion on all levels. In Level 4 the basic training is intensified and the student's abilities and understanding of basic principles involved in dance and massage work are put to the test and evaluated. ![]() ![]() This Module 2 Training takes place in New Zealand and is held at the very Marae where Hemi's great-grandmother lies burried (see page on Institute leadership under Hemi Fox), namely at Waikare Marae of the Kapotai tribe. This adds special spiritual energies to the training and brings students very close to the ancestral connections of MA-URI®. This training is of one month's duration. Students will here concentrate on their emotional development and self-healing processes. Daily exercises will be given in the practical application of MA-URI® Huna principles, in particular the principles relating to personal empowerment and mastery of emotional realities. The advanced massage training of this Module is designed to develop a deeper understanding within the students of the special qualities and effectiveness of MA-URI® Massage. An introduction to the spiritual focuses in MA-URI® is provided quite powerfully and significantly by Waikare Valley and the Meeting House itself. Waikare Marae with its valley and surrounding mountains, its river and trees offer rich opportunities for us to include Nature and Maori Culture as very active Teachers during this training. Furthermore, with the Marae placed right in-between the urupa (c: cemetary) and the kohangareo (c:'language nest' and kindergarten) this allows us to be constantly connected with the Spiritual Source of MA-URI® and with the CHILD energies and ANCESTRAL energies that are so important in this work of MA-URI®. Towards the end of this training the students may spend a number of days at Waiotira, the home of MA-URI® here in Aotearoa and the place where the 'Whare Kura' is going to be built. The most important part of the MA-URI® Huna training takes place here. Students will be tested in their ability to ADAPT to unfamiliar conditions, PRESERVE resources and NURTURE the land. Waiotira is the place to raise students' awareness of the responsibilities we share towards Nature, the Earth and Mankind - the importance of going beyond Self. ![]() ![]() This Module 3 training is also held in New Zealand and is of a month's duration. To deal with deep traumatic experiences and address certain spiritual issues the training brings in Kaitinana techniques and principles for MA-URI® Bodywork. This is the part of the training where very effective release techniques, i.e. of the non-invasive kinds, are taught. This is where creativity, adaptability and resourcefulness become very important and necessary assets to develop alongside of profound connectedness and empathy with the person on the table. In dance, bodywork and Huna training special emphasis is given to the principles of attunement, alignment, breath and touch. Again, Waikare Marae and Waiotira will provide the important environment, the teachers and the challenges for a deepening of understanding within each student. Students will explore the clues and begin to LIVE the principles held within the 'Trail of Destiny' text. This is the time and opportunity to connect with your personal Destiny and attempt to define your special Purpose in Life. Focus now moves on to defining the basic aspects of the practitioner-client relationship, ethical standards, responsibilities and pathways to follow in future professional client work. Practice in such focuses will be given at Open House days where the community of Waikare will be invited to come along for free sessions supervised by Hemi and Katja Fox. Part of this Kaitinana Training is to experience Maori ancestral beliefs in practice. Developing the knowledge and deeper understanding of Polynesian elements in Ma-uri bodywork, in training methods and client work. Expanding your own spiritual abilities. Connecting with your own ancestors, spiritual guides or guardians. Calling in Maori/Polynesian ancestors for guidance and teaching. Connecting with Maori song/waiata tradition. Experiencing the power of Speech and prayer and learning from the special focus and power of Maori Spirituality. How to work with individual Destiny issues. Graduation Assignment: Every evening the students will be working on their KOROWAI, the cloak and its 'creation myth'. Creating this Korowai constitutes one of the student's graduation tests. This Korowai will reflect the student's depth of understanding and where they are at in terms of their training. It will reflect their ability to connect with Polynesian mythology and important concepts special to MA-URI®. Furthermore, it will portray in symbolic form the student's spiritual relationship with MA-URI, the Earth, the Ancestors and God. ![]() ![]() European Summer Season: Between May and Mid October extra curricular workshops will be held at the Institute Training Centre in Denmark. These are 'Waihanga Ora' workshops focused on developing the students' self-healing abilities and 'Basic Clinic Practice' focused on clinic management and principles for basic clinic practice. These workshops will be available to Scandinavian, Polish and Lithuanian students in particular. Teacher Training Workshops for New Trainer Candidates and Trainer Seminar & Meetings for Established Trainers will be held at the Institute in Denmark during this summer period. In Hungary the Institute will run one or two 'Waihanga Ora' and Basic Clinic Workshops. They will be held at 'Whare Ma-uri' in Magyarlukafa (usually in July and August). New Zealand summer Season: Between October and May each year the Institute shifts down to New Zealand to run Module 2 Workshops down here and every 2 to 3 years there will be Module 3 Training offered also in New Zealand. ©2000-2001 MA-URI® Institute, Centre for MA-URI® Healing Arts.
