No particular background or career is a prerequisite for entering the training. Basically, what is needed is a good physical condition, an open and flexible mind, a courageous heart and sound self-esteem. It is important that you have a sincere wish and drive to move beyond past wounds, present limitations, and future barriers - and a desire to go for excellence in your application of MA-URI Massage & Bodywork and in your life. And .... how about a delightful sense of humour to brighten it all up?!! It will all give you a good start and a strong foundation!

Because the participants over the last 6-7 years have tended to group themselves into the following 3 categories, the programme has been designed mainly for:

1) Individuals who wish to add a more holistic training and approach to their present professional career as doctors, nurses, midwives, psychotherapists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, teachers, social workers, etc.

2) Individuals who wish to create a new career for themselves as professional Body Workers on a part time or full time basis. Many of these people have come to a crossroad in their career and decided that there is more to life than working for someone else in a job that is no longer satisfying their needs for personal expansion, creative expression and spiritual focus.

3) Individuals who are longing to explore their own depths and talents or searching for more fulfilling and encompassing experiences in life: Some of these individuals are people who have spent a good many years catering for the needs of their family and therefore put aside the fulfillment of their own needs and dreams. They have a wish to combine their well-developed and natural abilities for care giving with opportunities to explore their own depths and talents and to find new tools and principles to apply to their life and relationships.

Other individuals in this category are young people who have not yet made any final decision as to future career, but are eager to try themselves out in every way.

In order to make it manageable for students, the Institute has divided the payment of the training fee for each Module up, so that you pay for one workshop level at a time. Payment procedures will be explained in the material you will receive together with the Institute’s confirmation of your enrolment.

Saving up: Based on past experiences we recommend that the student puts aside money each month for the next workshop and in this way saves up over the time period given, so that the full amount does not have to come out of one month’s budget and cause unnecessary strain.

If for some reason you are compelled to cancel your participation in the workshop you have enrolled in (like f.inst. the Level 4 workshop in Denmark or the Module 2 training in New Zealand), then you need to inform and explain your situation to the Institute in writing at least one month before workshop start. Your cancellation may have the consequence that the group will end up having an uneven number of participants - which means that someone in the group will be missing a partner during massage practice. If there is no waiting list, an older student will usually be called in to fill the empty space. With the growing numbers, however, another situation may occur. A waiting list may have developed and people on this list are waiting eagerly for an opportunity to jump in and fill the empty space created by the cancellation. In both cases, these people need to be given a fair chance and time to get themselves organised with job and family in order to be able to step in at short notice. So be considerate to your fellow students, please, and give notice as soon as possible. We thank you for every effort in this respect.

Kia Ora!
